The Lodge
The Craft

Argenta Lodge was founded in 1871, under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Colorado.  It was formed by a group of Utah men involved in the mining industry. They adopted the name Argenta as a reference to the silver or “argentum” which was being extensively mined in the Utah Territory at that time.

Just eight short months after its initial founding, in January 1872, Argenta Lodge joined with Wasatch Lodge and Mount Moriah Lodge to form the Grand Lodge of Utah.  Being the youngest of these three lodges, Argenta Lodge became Argenta Lodge #3.  For the past 135 years, Argenta Lodge has been at the heart of Utah Masonry as a quiet but steadfast pillar of the craft.
